The Chattanooga Writers’ Guild 2016 Spring Writing contest

The Chattanooga Writers’ Guild is sponsoring its

2nd Annual Spring Writing
Contest

Eligibility:
Open to any piece that has not been previously published.

Deadline: April 15, 201​6

Categories:

  • Poetry
  • Fiction
  • Creative Non-fiction

Length:

  • Poetry: 40 lines or fewer
  • Prose: 2,500 words or fewer

Judging:
CWG Board Members will select the finalists in a blind judging. Winners will be selected by:

Initial judging by CWG board: April 16 to May 15

Final judging by guest judges: May 16 to May 31

​Winners will be notified by email and announced at the CWG monthly meeting on June 14 and on the website in early June.

Fees:
$5 per entry for CWG members; $10 per entry for non-members. Pay below via PayPal or mail a check payable to:

Prizes (for each category):
First place: $50
Second place: $30
Third place: $20

​All winners and honorable mentions will also be published in the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild 2016 Anthology!

How to Submit: 

  • All submissions must be attached as a Word document, with no identifying information on the manuscript itself.
  • A cover page must be attached separate from the manuscript, with your full name, address, phone number, email address, and title of the manuscript.
  • Email entries to submissions@chattanoogawritersguild.org, or click the button at the top of the page.
  • Don’t forget to pay your entry fee!
